SolTech was created by Sorrel Wilkes, following years of being the person friends, family, and colleagues turned to whenever they had a technical issue. Whether it was setting up new devices, fixing software problems, or helping someone understand how their systems worked, providing informal IT support became a regular part of day-to-day life.
Through this, it became clear that many people do not have an easy or affordable way to access IT help. For individuals and small businesses without an in-house technician, support can be difficult to find or unnecessarily expensive. Larger IT providers often focus on bigger clients, leaving smaller organisations and sole traders with limited options when something goes wrong.
This was especially noticeable when working with small shops, market stalls, and independent vendors who rely on EPOS systems, card readers, and backend PCs to operate. When these systems fail, trading can be disrupted or stopped entirely. Despite this, accessible EPOS support for smaller operations is limited, particularly for those who need quick, practical assistance rather than long-term contracts.
SolTech was set up to address this gap. The aim is to provide clear advice, affordable callouts, and a reliable point of contact for people who need help with their technology. This includes offering guidance over the phone where possible, attending on-site when needed, and taking the time to understand how each setup is used in practice.
The focus of SolTech is on being approachable and reliable. Support is delivered without unnecessary jargon, pressure, or upselling. The goal is to help people get their systems working properly and to provide ongoing support where required, with a consistent and friendly point of contact.
SolTech exists to offer practical IT support for people who want straightforward help from someone they can trust.
